USA People Search (usa-people-search.com) lets anyone look people up by name, phone number, or address, drawing on U.S. public records the way every broker in this space does. Is it legit? It's a real data broker rather than a scam — it carries the standard disclaimer that it is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA — but "legit" doesn't mean your listing has to stay up. Removal is free, runs through the site's own opt-out form, and takes about ten minutes plus one email click. One clarification worth making up front: despite the near-identical name, this is not US Search, the PeopleConnect brand — more on that below, because following the wrong guide is the easiest way to waste an afternoon here.
Go to the opt-out form
Go directly to usa-people-search.com/removal. The longer route is the footer's "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" link, which lands on a notice page that then links to the same "Opt-Out Form" — the direct URL skips a page. The site also lists a phone option, 800-248-1544, if you'd rather not use the form. There's no fee and no account to create at any point.
Enter your name and email
The form first asks who's filing: select "The subject of the request" (or the authorized-agent option if you're filing for someone else, which asks for the agent's name and email too). Enter your first and last name — middle name is optional — plus your email address, complete the captcha, and click "Begin Removal Process." Use an inbox you can open right away; the next step is time-limited.
Click the verification link in your email
USA People Search emails you a link that opens the actual opt-out form. The site warns the link expires after 24 hours, so if you sit on it you'll have to restart from Step 2. If nothing arrives within a few minutes, check spam before re-submitting.
Match your record and submit the removal
The emailed link takes you to the form where you enter information matching the record you want removed. Provide details exactly as your listing shows them — third-party walkthroughs of this flow show a record search by name and location with a "Remove Record" button on your listing. Check the city and age on any candidate record before removing it so you're pulling your own listing, not a namesake's. If you have listings under other name variants — a maiden name, a nickname the records picked up — each one needs its own pass through this form.
Confirm and wait for processing
After submitting you get a confirmation page and a confirmation email. The site asks you to allow 3 days for the request to be fully processed; independent guides report removals completing within about 72 hours. Once that window passes, search your name on the site to confirm the listing is gone.
Not part of the PeopleConnect network
USA People Search's name invites confusion with US Search (ussearch.com), which is a PeopleConnect brand removed through the PeopleConnect Suppression Center alongside TruthFinder, Intelius, and Instant Checkmate. As of our verification, usa-people-search.com shows no PeopleConnect affiliation anywhere on the site and runs its own independent opt-out form — so a PeopleConnect suppression does nothing for your listing here, and this opt-out does nothing for Intelius or TruthFinder. They're separate requests, like the dozens of other brokers holding their own file on you.
Why it's worth checking back
USA People Search says it plainly in its own privacy notice: it regularly receives new public records, so even after you opt out, your publicly available information "may appear in our data products again in the future." A new address, a new phone number, or a re-ingested record can rebuild your listing months after a successful removal — which makes this a task to revisit every few months, not a one-time errand.
