  • California's Data Broker Registry, maintained by the California Privacy Protection Agency, listed 865 registered data brokers when we pulled it on September 1, 2026 (registry). Where we stand

We want comprehensive privacy law adopted across the United States. California residents can now file one deletion request through the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform (DROP), and every data broker registered in California has to act on it. Unfortunately, citizens of other states do not have the same rights. Until they do, our aim is to give everyone else the same ease: one request, every broker we cover, without a law to compel it. We will always stand for the adoption of better privacy laws in the United States. We have no affiliation with any data broker or people search services.

Founder

Edward Fancher, Founder. Edward is a Seattle software engineer who has built and run online businesses for more than ten years, working across Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, cloud infrastructure, and information security. Before Delist My Data he worked on payment integrity at Blackhawk Network, led the redesign of the United Nations Capital Development Fund's Better Than Cash Alliance site, and has spent the last five years working in the health software industry. He is a graduate of New York University's Stern School of Business.

He founded Delist My Data in Seattle in 2026 and writes its opt-out guides and broker research, including which companies operate which people-search sites and how their opt-out processes behave in practice.
