NumberGuru is a reverse-phone-lookup site: type in a number and it tells you who's behind it — a name, a carrier, a spam-likelihood score, and, in its paid reports, the address history and other records tied to that person. Which means if your number is in its database, anyone you've ever called or texted can look you up from it. The site is operated by The Lifetime Value Co. LLC (through The NumberGuru LLC, per its own privacy policy) — the same New York company that runs BeenVerified and PeopleLooker. That ownership is the key to removal: NumberGuru has no opt-out form of its own. The "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" link in its footer sends you straight to BeenVerified's opt-out tool, and that's the form that clears the record NumberGuru's lookups draw on.
Check what NumberGuru shows
Go to numberguru.com and search your own phone number. The free preview is enough to confirm whether you're listed — don't buy a report on yourself just to see it. Note the name the number resolves to, since the opt-out form searches by name, not by phone number.
Open the BeenVerified opt-out page
Go directly to beenverified.com/app/optout/search — or, if you'd rather start from NumberGuru, scroll to the footer of any numberguru.com page and click "Do Not Sell My Personal Information," which lands you on the same form. Enter your first name, last name, and state, then search.
Find your listing and proceed to opt out
The tool returns a list of possible matches. Check the age and city shown next to each one before picking — with a common name, several results won't be you. When you've found your record, click "Proceed to Opt Out" next to it.
Enter your email and pass the CAPTCHA
You'll be asked for an email address and a CAPTCHA before you can submit. That's the whole identity check — no account, no fee, no ID upload. Use an inbox you can open right away, because the request isn't filed until you confirm it.
Confirm via email and wait
Open the message from BeenVerified and click the "Verify Opt-Out" link inside — it's only good for about 48 hours, and the request sits incomplete until you click it. Once verified, BeenVerified's stated processing window is roughly 24–72 hours, and the removal covers the listing NumberGuru serves as well. If nothing happens after a few days, or you have multiple records under different name variants, you can also reach NumberGuru directly at privacy@numberguru.com or 1-866-673-9048, both listed in its privacy policy.
One form, one corporate family — mostly
Don't be thrown when the opt-out page says BeenVerified at the top instead of NumberGuru: because both sites run on the same company's data, there's no separate NumberGuru-only suppression list, and if you've already completed a BeenVerified opt-out, your NumberGuru listing should already be handled. What one form doesn't do is clear the unrelated reverse-phone sites — USPhonebook, Whitepages, and the rest keep their own databases and their own opt-outs. An opt-out suppresses the record that exists today; a new phone number, a new address, or a fresh data feed can generate a new listing months from now that the old suppression doesn't touch.
