InfoTracer is a public-records search site run by InfoPay, Inc., a Boston data company that operates a stable of record-search brands — so it's a real, legal business, not a scam, even if finding your court records, addresses, and phone numbers listed there feels like one. Compared with people-search sites like Spokeo or Whitepages, InfoTracer leans harder into records — criminal, court, traffic, and license data alongside the usual contact details. The removal itself is free and account-free: you search for your record on the opt-out page, select it, and confirm by email. Note that InfoTracer's privacy policy covers infotracer.com only — nothing on the site suggests one request also clears InfoPay's sibling sites such as RecordsFinder, so each has to be opted out of separately.
Search for your record on the opt-out page
Go to infotracer.com/optout — it's the same form the privacy policy's "Your Privacy Choices" link points to. Enter your first name, last name, and state (city is optional) and run the search. This step is required; InfoTracer uses the search to locate which record your request applies to.
Select the listing that's you
The search returns possible matches. Check the location and other details against your own before selecting — with a common name, several results won't be you. Mark the record that is yours and continue to the removal request.
Submit with a working email address
Provide an email address you actually check and submit the request. InfoTracer notes it "may need to ask you additional questions to confirm the information that is associated with you," so a reachable inbox matters beyond the confirmation click.
Confirm via the verification email
Watch your inbox for a confirmation message from InfoTracer and click the verification link inside it. As with most brokers, the request isn't processed until you do — an unconfirmed submission just expires quietly.
Wait for processing
InfoTracer doesn't publish a firm processing window on the opt-out page itself; third-party trackers report removals typically completing within about three to seven business days of email confirmation, sometimes faster. If your listing is still up after a couple of weeks, follow up at privacy@infotracer.com — that's also the direct route InfoTracer specifies for "covered persons" (judges, prosecutors, law enforcement, and their families), who have a dedicated email-based removal path.
Canceling a paid account is a separate request
A meaningful share of people searching "delete InfoTracer account" aren't in the database — they bought a subscription and want out of the billing. The opt-out form above does nothing for that: it removes your public listing, not your membership. To cancel, use InfoTracer's support contact form (it has an "Account Cancellation" subject option), email support@infotracer.com, or call (800) 791-1427, which the site lists as staffed 24/7. If you want both — no subscription and no listing — you'll need to do each separately.
