Step 1: Go to the removal portal
Go to fastbackgroundcheck.com/removal — this is a dedicated tool separate from the general search on the homepage.
Step 2: Find your listing
Enter your full name and state, then search. Review the results and click through to the listing that's actually you.
Step 3: Start the removal
On your listing, follow the prompts to select the opt-out or "remove" option for that record.
Step 4: Verify by email
Enter an email address for verification. FastBackgroundCheck sends a confirmation link to it — solve the CAPTCHA and submit the removal request, then open the email and click the link to finalize it. The opt-out isn't processed without this last click.
Step 5: Confirm and wait
FastBackgroundCheck's own materials describe processing within about 72 hours, though data has been reported to disappear within 24 hours in some cases.
