Step 2: Search for your record
Enter your first name, last name, city, state, and birth year (middle name if you have one) and click "Search." Adding the birth year narrows the results significantly if you have a common name.
Step 3: Opt out of your record
Find your listing in the results — it'll show your full name, birthdate, and age. Click the red "Opt Out This Record" button above it. If you have more than one listing (common if you've moved or public records list slight name variations), repeat this for each one.
Step 4: Verify by email
FamilyTreeNow sends a verification email to the address you provide. Open it and click the confirmation link — the opt-out isn't final until you do this step.
Step 5: Confirm and wait
