SearchPeopleFree's removal process has more steps than most — you fill out an opt-out request, verify your email, then search for and confirm the specific record you want gone. It's not complicated, just longer than a single-form opt-out, and it's easy to stop partway through and assume you're done when the record's actually still live.
Step 1: Start the opt-out request
Go to searchpeoplefree.com/opt-out, enter your full name and an email address, check the box confirming you own that email, and solve the CAPTCHA. Click "Begin removal process."
Step 2: Verify your email
SearchPeopleFree sends a confirmation email right away. Open it and click "validate my email" to continue — the flow won't let you proceed further without this.
Step 3: Search for your record
Back on the site, enter your full name, city, and state, then click "search" to find your listing.
Step 4: Confirm and remove the record
If there's more than one listing under your name, review each before continuing. Click "continue removal" to open the record, then click "remove this record" to submit the actual removal request.
Step 5: Wait for it to process
Most removals complete within 24–72 hours, though SearchPeopleFree can take up to 9 days in some cases. If your listing is still up after that window, it's worth resubmitting rather than assuming the request silently failed.
