PeopleSmart doesn't run its own opt-out form — it hands the request off to BeenVerified, which manages removals for PeopleSmart under the hood. That's useful to know going in: the flow you complete lives on beenverified.com, and finishing it clears your record from both sites at once.
Step 1: Go to the opt-out link
Go to peoplesmart.com/optout-go, or scroll to the footer of any PeopleSmart page and click "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information." Either way, you'll land on BeenVerified's suppression tool.
Step 2: Find your listing
Enter your first and last name, select your state, and click "Search."
Step 3: Start the opt-out
Locate the record that's you and click "Proceed to Opt Out" next to it.
Step 4: Verify by email
Enter the email address you want used for the request and solve the CAPTCHA, then click "Send Verification Email." Check your inbox for a message from BeenVerified and click "Verify Opt Out" to finalize it.
Step 5: Confirm and wait
Removal is typically processed within 3–7 business days, and you should get an email confirmation once it's done. Because this goes through BeenVerified's system, completing it once removes you from both PeopleSmart and BeenVerified search results — you don't need to repeat the process on BeenVerified separately.
