Opt-Out Guides

How to Opt Out of CheckPeople (2026 Step-by-Step Guide)

Difficulty Easy
Removal method Email-based suppression center + verification link
Time required 2 minutes to submit; removed within about a week

CheckPeople runs its removal process through a "suppression center" rather than making you search for and click through your own listing. It's one of the shorter opt-out flows in this list — you give it an email address, confirm a link, and it handles matching that address to any record tied to you.

Step 1: Go to the suppression center

Go to checkpeople.com/opt-out directly, or scroll to the footer of any CheckPeople page and click "do not sell or share my personal information."

Step 2: Submit your email address

Enter the email address you'd like used for the opt-out request. Read and accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and consent to receiving the transactional emails needed to complete the process, then submit.

Step 3: Verify by email

Check your inbox for a message from CheckPeople with a verification link. Click it to confirm the request — nothing is removed until this step is done, so check your spam folder if it doesn't show up within a few minutes.

Step 4: Wait for it to process

CheckPeople's own materials note removal can take about a week. Because the site refreshes its database from public-record sources, a listing that's been suppressed can reappear later — if that happens, the same two-step process works again.
